Our Story
A story that begins in Istria
Konfin grew from a shared idea among Istrian olive growers: to bring together knowledge, experience and a deep connection with the olive in an oil that clearly speaks of its origin.
After almost a decade of effort, the Maslinari Istre agricultural cooperative was founded in 2019. Konfin became its shared signature — a name under which Istrian olive-growing tradition meets a modern approach to production.
Konfin means boundary
In the Istrian dialect, the word konfin means “border” or “boundary”. The name comes from Istria’s position around the 45th parallel — an area traditionally regarded as the northern limit of olive cultivation.
At this boundary, the identity of Konfin takes shape: a meeting of nature, knowledge, tradition and precision in production. The line “oil without borders” completes the idea of the brand — an oil deeply rooted in its origin, yet recognised for its ambition and quality far beyond Istria.
Knowledge passed on. An approach that keeps evolving
Istrian olive growing is built on generations of experience, but its strength lies in more than tradition alone. Konfin combines the knowledge of olive growers, careful work in the grove and modern production methods with one clear goal — to preserve the character of the fruit and create high-quality extra virgin olive oil.
Behind every bottle are people who know the olive through every season, from pruning and cultivation to harvest and processing.
The ladder as part of the story
The ladder in Konfin’s visual identity is not merely a decorative motif. It comes from the tradition of hand harvesting and the need to reach fruit in the upper part of the olive canopy.
Within the brand, it becomes a symbol of work, knowledge and growth — one step at a time.
